Twitchell clearly rose through the ranks to attain a spot in the prestigious Honor Choir, and is the first Groton student in almost 15 years to earn this honor. Each spring, thousands of students register through their school music programs to attend these evaluation festivals. NYSSMA is a professional organization that evaluates student musicians in New York state from elementary through high school. Groton High School senior Brooke Twitchell auditioned for the New York State School Music Association festival this past spring, and after receiving high scores there, she was accepted into the New York All-State Honor Choir.
